One of the saddest sights I have seen during my brief time in India is the presence of many child workers. In this picture, a young boy works in a brick factory on the outskirts of Kolkata. Speaking to workers, they told me they work more than 12 hours each day making bricks, earning around 250 Indian Rupees per day, approx. US$4. Children are especially vulnerable to the health hazards of working in industries such as this.
