Enduring Rifts - Santiago, Chile. Four decades after the military overthrew Salvador Allende's democratically elected government, the past remains a vital force in the country. This next two weeks we are taking an in-depth look at the legacy of Pinochet's regime four decades after the coup. Patio 29 was a section of Santiago's General Cemetery where political dissidents were buried in mass graves during the early part of Augusto Pinochet's regime. Hundreds of men and women were buried here and to this day not all the victims have been correctly identified. #dissident #massgrave #graves #dissapeared #desaparecido #pulitzercenter #jeffkellylowenstein @jonlowenstein #noorimages @noorimages #photograph #blackandwhite #nofilter #pinochet #communist #cemetery #cross #thecross
