Preworkout oatmeal ?
Your body needs carbs before a workout to prevent the breakdown of your muscles for energy. If you're not eating adequate carbs before a workout, you are forcing your body to break down the protein in your muscles during that workout, which is counter productive to building muscle. Eating clean carbs in controlled portions is necessary to replenish your glycogen stores before and after a workout. Glycogen is sugar that is stored in your muscles and liver and is the first place your body draws its energy from during any physical activity. The rule of thumb is: carbs before a workout, and carbs, fats and protein after a workout to build the muscle!
