Oh and about taking pictures of yourself while practicing (so many discussions now!). Two amazing comments i read on that feed: - I practice in the morning, and I pose in the evening! Two very different things. - Taking pictures of yourself while practicing yoga is like texting and driving; it can be done technically but takes your attention away from the road (and puts you at risk of injury!). I'm all for taking pictures of yoga poses (HELLO?! I'm yoga girl!??) and what I was trying to say was that I think that taking pictures of yourself in poses for social media purposes should be separated from your real practice. Keep taking pictures, but do it after you're done with your real time on the mat. The biggest challenge is to stay present on the mat, and how can you when you're focusing on posing instead of practicing? Recording yourself or taking photos to check alignment is different, in those cases you don't worry about looking pretty or deepening the pose just for a photograph. Spoken from someone with a ton of experience of yoga shoots: Let your time on the mat be for your soul, not for your ego. When the camera is on, it's crazy challenging to stay present and not focus on what you look like. Focus on what your practice FEELS like instead and leave the camera out of the equation! Why would you want a camera in front if your mat, or a phone (my phone stresses me out like crazy!)? We are so addicted to technology (me included) so why not let your yoga practice be a break from that? Stay present. Be with your body. Breathe. Turn your phone off. And when you're done and all warmed up... Bring in Instagram and shoot away!? Lots of love to you ALL. Really. Loving this conversation!❤? #yogaeverydamnday
