NASA Sees a Giant Snowy Question Mark in New Mexico and Colorado

NASA's Terra satellite passed over the U.S. southwest on Dec. 11, 2012 at 1800 UTC (1 p.m. EST) and captured what appeared to be a giant question mark made of snow in New Mexico and Colorado.

The Moderate Resolution Imaging Spectroradiometer (MODIS) instrument that flies aboard NASA's Terra satellite captured a visible image of a recent snowfall that stretched from east central New Mexico to east central Colorado. The snowfall appears to resemble a giant question mark from space. The bottom half of the question mark covers the Santa Fe National Forest in New Mexico, while the curved top half wraps through the Great Sand Dunes National Preserve and Rio Grande National Forest in Colorado. #nasa #earth #? #NewMexico #Colorado #space #snow
