市川渚さんのインスタグラム写真 - (市川渚Instagram)「. . . バルセロナからレンタカーでサンセバスチャンに向かう途中に立ち寄ったオリテ。今は4000人ほどが暮らす街で、14世紀後半から15世紀、この辺りをおさめていたナバラ王国の王のために建てられたお城、オリテ王宮が残っている。中世に建てられたお城は要塞としての防御性が求められていたことが多かったらしいのだけれど、このお城は住居利用がメインだったこともあり、機能性よりも彫刻などの装飾をふんだんに用いてデザイン性を重視したつくりになっていたらしい。しかし、スペイン内戦の際にほぼ破壊されてしまったそうで、現存する塔と城壁は1930年代から30年かけて修復されたもの。にしても、当時の街並みとお城を容易に想像できるような美しい場所でした（お天気はいまいちだったけど……）。ちなみに、迷路のようなお城内部は見学することもできるし、一部はスペインの国営宿泊施設「パラドール」の一部になってるとか。つまり、ここに泊まることもできる(!)という。周辺にはワイナリーもたくさんあって、機会があったら泊まってみたい。映像はよろしければYouTubeでぜひ。 🔗https://youtu.be/jznsOMrJtoU?si=AxDlYQM1fMrdWyGU On our way from Barcelona to San Sebastian by rental car, we stopped at Olite. While most medieval castles were built as fortresses, this was primarily used as a residence, focusing more on design with abundant decorations and sculptures rather than functionality. However, it was almost destroyed during the Spanish Civil War, and the surviving towers and walls were restored over 30 years starting in the 1930s. It was a beautiful place where I could easily imagine the old town and palace, despite the not-so-great weather! Of course, it's open for tours, and parts of it have been converted into a Parador, a state-run Spanish hotel. So, you can also stay here! Amazing.
