Two penguins have been caught red-flippered on secret dates. McKinney has been spotted canoodling with Tinka on several occasions this month, and Tinka has been reciprocating the affection even though McKinney has been with Courtney. 😱 Tinka also slipped out and left her mate Austin to incubate their practice egg in their nest box since she’s the one who does most of the incubation duties. Because we’ve caught them sneaking around behind their mates’ backs, McKinney and Tinka have made it on the naughty list. This month’s nice penguin is Simon. Simon is a wonderful mate because he shares all his incubation duties equally with his girl, Pomona. While Pomona takes her turn on their practice egg, he patiently sits with her in their nest box and keeps her company. He only comes out to grab a bite to eat at feedings or take a quick swim, then he’s right back home.
