Debit has been crafting and releasing fervent club and experimental music since 2018, combining the triplet rhythms of tribal guarachero with the gritty textures of industrial techno, as well as exploring the far reaches of ambient music. In 2022, she released on @ourmodernlove ‘The Long Count’, an ambitious electro-acoustic tome that delves into the past to peer into the future: using research she made into Mayan wind instruments, Beatriz developed digital instruments and harnessed machine learning to compose music that feels completely out of time. Following Debit, Canzonieri, the duo comprising @emi_maggi and @cosimo_damiano_, will dive into the writings of mid-medieval poet Al-Ballanubi. Blending flutes, guitars, modular synthesis, and vocals, they will explore contemporary dialectics of the before and after, the past and future, the day and night.
