I do this as often as feels necessary, but especially when I’m staying in a new space to rid of the previous stagnant energy that may be stuck and to start afresh. I’ve started verbalising this ritual out loud too, asking the unwanted energy to leave to create more space for light and love. I love the idea that we have the power and magic to create desirable spaces using an abundance of tools available to us and within us - our inner world reflects our outer world. This year has felt heavy in so many ways, but finding small yet purposeful rituals throughout our day can make a difference in shifting the heaviness. While I cleanse I also light candles, incense, play soft complimenting music, and consciously prepare the room for peace. It may look or sound woo woo, but I often think what’s to lose? Yes, people may think it’s pointless or crazy, but if you feel a positive impact from certain practices, does it really matter what others think?
