He’s about 50 years of age - which is very old for a gorilla - and biologists have been studying him in the Congolese rainforest since the mid-90s. No other gorilla has been studied for that long. Trackers and research assistants in Nouabalé-Ndoki National Park say he used to be very intimidating, always ready to charge and bite. Now he’s quite skinny and slow. His group is only made of young males since all the females left. Kingo is a piece of history, and he’s probably living his last days.
