How cute was that little turtle!? 🥹 🌴 If you’re looking to go diving in the Maldives then here’s some top things to remember: ➡️ The Maldives is made up of atolls, each with their own collection of islands. Every atoll is known for different marine life - e.g. Baa atoll where @avanimaldives is located is known for whale sharks and mantas. ➡️ December to March is the best time of year for underwater visibility. Currents are strongest during Feb/March - which is my favourite time to dive there due to all the shark action! ➡️ If you’re not confident with currents, don’t worry, there’s plenty of dive site options with little to no current. ➡️ It’s a great place for beginner diving, as many incredible reefs are under 20 metres deep. However if you travel to the far southern atolls then I recommend having an advanced open water qualification as it’s mostly channel diving at 25-30 metres. ➡️ The water is super warm (28-30), you can dive in either 3mm shortie wetsuit or just your swimmers. ➡️ If you dive at a resort, they will have all the gear you need, so don’t worry about bringing your own.
