I would be a lot more successful in life if only I could remember other people’s names. Ideally, not the people I went to infant school with 20 years ago – whom I can remember to a T. Nailing the name game is not just a social nicety, but the secret to forging strong connections. Mr Dale Carnegie, the American self-improvement and salesmanship guru, once said, “A person’s name is to that person the sweetest and most important sound in any language… It is a very personal and important part of their self-worth.”
