Feeling ghoulish? 😈 You might relate to the bearded ghoul fish (Inimicus didactylus)! This ambush predator spends most of its time buried in the sand, keeping a lookout for passing prey with its upward-facing eyes. When disturbed, it flashes its brightly colored pectoral fins as an intimidation tactic, but if that isn't enough to deter opponents, this species can inject a powerful venom via its dorsal spines—which is why this fish is also called the demon stinger.
