This cute-sounding word means someone is clumsy, or rushes too fast and make mistakes, or is ‘scatterbrained’.
So be careful about where and when you say it!🫢

It’s usually written in hiragana and comes from the following words:
お - oh >> may come from either the interjection for when you are surprised or, from the prefix to make the word sound more polite.
ちょこ - choko >> from the onomatopoeia - ちょこちょこ - chokochoko - which refers to rapid movements, or toddling with quick small steps.
ちょい - choi >> from the slang for ‘a little’.
