“Suneil Sanzgiri: Here the Earth Grows Gold” opens today at the Brooklyn Museum. Through his work in the exhibition, the artist presents the concept of diaspora as a way to reconfigure our understanding of history and belonging.

Sanzgiri is the 4th annual recipient of the UOVO Prize, which recognizes the work of emerging Brooklyn-based artists. In addition to a solo exhibition at the Brooklyn Museum, winners receive a commission for a public art installation on the facade of UOVO Brooklyn and a $25,000 cash grant.
