To illustrate the concept of “Invisibugs” for the bookazine “Gory Details,” I chose a film noir style. I had a model overexpress the emotions one might feel if they had bugs crawling all over them. I chose a camera angle in close with a wide-angle lens to put the viewer within the personal space of the subject who thinks she is crawling with bugs. Then I lit her with a hard light, which is classic of ’50s horror movies. The final image, I hope, evokes in the reader what it must feel like to be someone who suffers from this affliction.
