We packed a lot in visiting museums, walking in the park, running through giant ball pits and we got to meet @jimmyfallon who was bloody lovely. It was very special to spend time with my sister and brother in law and my niece Maggie, and for the kids to hang out with their grandad. I have avoided jet lagging myself for ten years as its a huge trigger for my anxiety and obsession around sleep so this trip was almost a healthy challenge. The first night I had a panic attack in bed and barely slept but after that I coped much better than I had imagined. I proved to myself that I can move outside my comfort zone and push myself when it feels right. I spent the whole of my twenties travelling constantly so it also made me connect with that younger carefree version of myself.
