She lived three lifetimes worth of dog lives. 17 years! We rescued you at Beagles and Buddies after you jumped in my lap and kissed my face, a signature Maizy move. She’s the only dog that I got to pick as a pet ever. She was “my fault” as we’d sometimes say. But what a life she had. She was a cover model for Life and Dog magazine, in a commercial for Best Friends Animal Sanctuary, 2nd place at the Race for the Rescues 5k run, she was on tv shows sets and even became a theatre dog at Laguna Playhouse. She had multiple backyards to get in trouble in and even once fulfilled her lifetime bloodlust goal of catching a squirrel. I have many scars on my body as the result of our disagreements concerning “what are you eating?” I guess I’m happy that I have those scars to remember her now. But she also healed me many times in ways she could never understand. She wasn’t a good girl but she did everything Maizy style. And maybe it’s better to be a one of a kind, original than be a good girl. Godamn it but we miss her so.」9月10日 3時54分
