Do people read tea leaves in your country? 🔮

In Japan, ‘chabashira ga tatsu’ refers to a tea stem floating upright in a cup of tea. 🍵
It is considered a good omen. 😄

Here’s how it is written in kanji, hiragana, and romaji:
茶 - ちゃ - cha - tea, 柱 - ばしら - bashira - pillar, が - ga - the subject marker, 立つ - たつ - tatsu - stand.

‘Chabashira` refers to the tea stem but literally translates as ‘tea pillar’.
はしら - hashira changes to ばしら - bashira when it's preceded by another word.

Swipe to hear how you say it.👉👂
