It is now one of the city’s central business districts. 🏮The streets are lined with inexpensive Japanese-style izakaya bars where workers relax in the evenings. 👘 Once a geisha district, it is home to the Azuma-odori, an annual performance by the neighborhood's traditional geisha. 🧱 As space was limited in the early days of modernization, a red brick viaduct was built to support elevated tracks. Today the space under the tracks is home to restaurants and shops. 🍲 The opening of the railway is said to have inspired a new food culture.
