I wrote this song during a really difficult time. Like everyone else, covid altered my whole life.

I couldn’t do the things I wanted to and couldn’t be near the people I cared about most.

Not being able to be around loved ones really made me think about the meaning of love itself.
I just kept thinking “what is love?”,
over and over.
That’s how this song came about, and writing it helped me so much.

Incredibly, Aloe Blacc loved the lyrics and lent his amazing voice to the song! I can’t thank him enough.

It’s a really important song for me.

精神的に追い詰められていました。

コロナウィルスの蔓延によって今までのルーティンが崩れ、良かれと思ってやったことすら上手くいかず、仲間とも家族とも、良い関係を作るのが難しい時期でした。

What is Love? は、
その時の私の大きなテーマでした。
大事な人のそばにいることが辛い時、
愛とは何なのかと考えました。

そんな歌詞です。

信じられないことに、
アローブラックが私とプロデューサーで作った歌詞を気に入ってくれて、歌いたいと言ってくれました。
