ガゴシアン・ギャラリーさんのインスタグラム写真 - (ガゴシアン・ギャラリーInstagram)「"THE FORGING YEARS," an exhibition of new work by Nathaniel Mary Quinn (@nathanielmaryquinn), opened at the rue de Ponthieu gallery in Paris earlier this month! In this, his first solo exhibition in the city, Quinn explores the construction of memory and perception with reference to his personal and familial history, as well as to art historical influences including Giovanni Battista Moroni, Rembrandt, and Francis Bacon. Pictured here is Quinn alongside fellow artist Jenny Saville (@jennysavilleofficial) at the opening reception. The pair first met during the filming of an episode of Gagosian Premieres, which celebrated Saville’s exhibition “Elpis” at Gagosian New York in 2020. In the film, Quinn takes viewers on a walkthrough of the show, sharing his enthusiasm for the craft of painting and the power of Saville’s vision.
