Maybe it's a post lockdown thing - I feel like our concept of time got all weird. Maybe from the monotony of the days or something, I don't know? Or maybe it's since have children. They are like physical representations of time aren't they? Maybe a bit of both! I barely recognise myself 2 years ago. We'd just moved out of London. The world was just starting to open up. I feel like I'd lost my style and identity but I was still riding the highs of the newborn bubble. Between the two clicks, I overcame Postnatal depression. Decided to have another baby. And came out the other side. It kinda shows that when you're in the grips of sleep deprivation, or identity struggles, or struggling to adapt to motherhood or whatever it is you might be going through... It feels like a long time. But suddenly you blink and you're in a different place entirely. You just have to hang in there. Remember that everything is a phase. Things always get better. ❤️🙏 Throughout it all, I've always put Alf first. Always been such a good mum. He's always been my number 1. There's also the physical changes as well - I transformed our patio into a family friendly space. I just love it so much - especially now the sun is shining. Maybe I should do another garden tour now the purple flowers are out. 🌸🙏 There's a quote that says something about "the grass is green where you water it" and I'm sure I could say something really profound about that being a metaphor for working on myself and our family. But I'm a little tired so I'll have to save the profound thoughts for another time.
