Komakusa Flowers at Hakuba Goryu Alpine Botanical Garden
(Hakuba Village)

Komakusa are known as the “Queen of Alpine Flora” in Japan.

These flowers grow and bloom in harsh climates with dry air, strong winds and cold temperatures that most alpine flora can’t bear.

Around the Hakuba Goryu Alpine Botanical Garden, you can find over 30,000 komakusa flowers, which bloom for a relatively long period beginning in late June.

*The Hakuba Goryu Apline Botanical Garden is set to open from June 3rd. For details, please see the facility’s official website.
