It is the only urban part of the famed Mountains-to-Sea Trail system, which connects North Carolina’s Outer Banks to the Smoky Mountains. I visited at sunset, passing friendly folks walking their dogs, biking with their families, and using the trail as a pleasant part of their regular commute. After a leisurely walk, I grabbed a bite at the Weaver Street Market at the popular Riverwalk Bridge and made a note to return someday to visit the Eno River Farmers Market, located just above the trail. | Treadmills have nothing on North Carolina’s scenic Piedmont trails.
