“ イニシェリン島の精霊 ” をどうしても劇場で観たくて探したら、池袋の新文芸坐で上映中！早速と思いタイムスケジュールを見たらなんと一本前に、これまた見逃していた “ エンパイア・オブ・ライト ／ Empire of Light ” を上映中！！！運命とばかりに2本続けて鑑賞という幸運に恵まれました。
監督／サム・メンデス、主演／オリヴィア・コールマンによる “ エンパイア・オブ・ライト ” 。簡単に説明すると、80年代初頭イギリスを舞台に大人の恋愛を描いた、切なすぎるラブストーリーで、監督の自伝的なニュアンスをバックボーンに映画愛に溢れまくった大傑作。 いや〜本当に全ての絵が完璧で全部ポスターにしたいぐらい美しい！舞台になったアールデコな映画館のインテリアも素晴らしく、かなり影響を受けそうです。撮影／ロジャー・ディーキンス、音楽／トレント・レズナー&アッティカス・ロスという脇を固める布陣も完璧すぎです。( 劇中に流れる当時の音楽も又々最高 )。
そしてそして、復習として観た “ イニシェリン島の精霊 ” もやっぱり劇場に来て良かったです。
素晴らしい映画観ると大袈裟じゃなく生き方に影響を与えてくれますね〜

I really wanted to see "The Banshees of Inisherin" in the theater, so I looked for it and found that it was being shown at Shinbungeiza in Ikebukuro! I looked at the time schedule and found that "Empire of Light", which I had missed, was being shown one film earlier! As fate would have it, I had the good fortune of seeing two films in a row.
"Empire of Light" is directed by Sam Mendes and stars Olivia Coleman. To briefly describe it, it is a sad love story about adult romance set in England in the early 80's. It is a masterpiece full of love for cinema, with the director's autobiographical nuances as its backbone. Well, really, all the pictures are so perfect and beautiful that I want to make a poster of all of them! The interior of the art deco movie theater where the film takes place is also amazing and seems to be quite influential. The cinematography by Roger Deakins and music by Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross are also perfect. (The music of the time is also excellent.)
And I'm glad I came to the theater to see "The Banshees of Inisherin" for a second time..
When you see a great movie, it affects the way you live your life, not exaggerating.
