Let it snow! ❄️

After three years of extreme drought, 2023 was a boom year for precipitation in the Sierra Nevada. Many parts of California measured more than 200 percent of expected precipitation this year. According to the National Weather Service, 2023 saw some of the coldest weather that California has seen since the late 1970s.

This means a lot of snow! The first image shows the Sierra Nevada mountains in early April of this year, and the second image is during the same week in 2022. This year's snowpack is one of the largest on record in California.
