Today @catalystquartet—our @metlivearts 2022-23 Quartet in Residence—performs a piece by composer Angélica Negrón (@little_miss_echo) from our Chinese Buddhist Art galleries, writing:⁣
⁣
“Inspired by her Puerto Rican heritage, Angélica’s miniature is based on a traditional children’s song called ‘La Linda Mancita,’ which goes, ‘La linda manita que tiene el bebé, que linda que bella que preciosa es.’ Translated into English, it means, the beautiful hand that the baby has, how pretty, how beautiful, how precious it is.”⁣
