Photos by Becky Hale @beckythale | Do dolphins recognize themselves? This was the concept I was asked to photograph at the National Aquarium in Baltimore for National Geographic’s story on animal minds. To capture a different perspective, I descended into a small chamber between the two training pools and shot through an observation window. A one-way mirror was mounted on the window, and I was able to photograph the dolphins looking at themselves and performing for their own reflections. Exhibiting self-awareness is one of several examples that show animals think and feel much like we do. Read more about them in the link in bio. #NationalDolphinDay
