I used to be a junk food addict— you name it, I was eating it. Hot Cheetos, Del Taco, even Vodka Redbulls were all favorites of mine. But after realizing so many of my health issues were correlated with the food I was eating, I chose to prioritize my health and well-being as a form of self-care. I knew I deserved better. It was like breaking free from a toxic relationship with food. Taking care of my body through nourishing meals and regular exercise has become an act of self-love, and it’s made a world of difference in my overall well-being.

The reality is that chronic diseases are at an all-time high in the US, and many of these diseases are linked to diet and lifestyle. It’s eye-opening to realize the impact our choices can have on our long-term health. I made the decision to prioritize my health and make conscious choices about what I put into my body. It’s not always easy, but it’s empowering to know that I have the power to positively impact my health through my choices. And it doesn’t have to be expensive or complicated! It’s about making small swaps here and there, whether it’s at the grocery store or in my daily routine. It’s about choosing whole, nourishing foods and finding ways to incorporate movement into my daily life that feel enjoyable and sustainable.

Choosing to eat well, exercise, and take care of my body has become a form of self-care that I’m really proud of. It’s a journey of intentional self-love and self-respect, and I’m committed to continuing to prioritize my health as an act of self-care.
