But in the 1634 story called “Sun, Moon, and Talia”, the earliest known version of the Sleeping Beauty tale, it is not a prince, but instead, a *married* king who sneaks into the abandoned palace, finds Sleeping Beauty (named Talia in this story) lying on a bed, and… he rapes and impregnates her. Yup. And then somehow, Sleeping Beauty gives birth to the twins (Sun and Moon) while she is still asleep, and as the newborn twins try to breastfeed, only then she wakes up.
