A 300-person artisan collective in Teotitlán del Valle, El Árbol Zapoteco specializes in wool textiles and hand embroidery. Using natural fibers and dyes made from indigo, marigolds, walnut shells and more, its work underscores the region’s strong connection to nature and heritage. This video is part of West Elm’s La Mesa collection, a partnership with 8 artisan groups across Mexico to celebrate Mexican culture and create sustainable income for 510 local artisans, helping preserve their heritage craft techniques.
