I am being driven round the bend by constant drilling (not in my house, but making its walls and my head reverberate) and can’t think or write, so decided to throw myself into some baking. On the left, half quantities of my Walnut & Ginger Carrot Cake recipe (cooked in a 1lb loaf tin for 40 mins in a 170°c oven); on the right, my No-Knead Black Bread in all its splendour!
