KARAさんのインスタグラム写真 - (KARAInstagram)「This week we’re releasing a collaborative project with The Interact Center for Visual & Performing Arts. @interactcenterarts is a progressive visual arts studio and theater company whose work has challenged perceptions of disability since 1996. Interact works to advance the recognition of over 120 professional working artists, uniting disparate artistic identities, abilities, and backgrounds in the spirit of radical inclusion. Interact artists range in age from 18 to mid-70s; identify with African, Asian, Native, Latinx, Pacific Island, and European heritages; and represent the entire spectrum of disability labels. In the early 1980s, Interact’s Founder/Artistic Director Jeanne Calvit was invited to create plays with people with disabilities at Camp New Hope in McGregor, MN. This inspired a whole new understanding of how people with all abilities and backgrounds could ignite the creative process. Today, Interact’s work blurs the boundaries between who “can” and who “cannot”, blending a wide spectrum of talents and abilities by artists with and without disabilities.
