He was inspired when a community mentorship program came to his high school and helped the kids organize, produce and star in a talent show. This experience gave Orville confidence to seek out his own definition of success. In addition to working as a barista, Orville is the co-owner of a lifestyle brand aimed at empowering local artists and hosting neighborhood events. “I’m going to continue to show my fellow Black people in this time we can still make a path for future generations. We can still achieve our dreams. We can still conquer our dreams. It might not be easy, but be patient, keep going, take your time.
