It’s so packed full of veggies and tastes so so good!!🥣🥰 The gentle taste of this soup is due to the scallop broth dissolving into a thick, mellow soup. Kozuyu was originally served on special occasions, such as celebrations and New Year's, because the Aizu region was far from the sea and it was difficult to obtain seafood.😍✨ As you can see, it is usually served at the table in a cute little bowl that is smaller than miso soup. This implies that it is okay to have as many bowls as you’d like. This is another example of the hospitality of the Aizu region, and I recommend it because it gives you a gentle healthy feeling every time you eat it. When I had it as part of a meal there were no seconds, but there was so much food I could barely finish it all. 🥰✨ It is available at most of the guesthouses and restaurants in the Aizu region that serve local food! ❤️✨ For example, you can try kozuyu at Shibukawadonya guesthouse and restaurant (historic wholesale store) in Nanoka-machi, and Iseya guesthouse and café in Ouchi-juku! Today I want to introduce “Kozuyu,” a local dish of Aizu Wakamatsu City -and one of my personal FAVORITES!! 😋💕

I tried this dish for the first time at the Iseya Guesthouse (Minshuku Iseya) in Ouchi-juku, and it really left an impression! It’s so packed full of veggies and tastes so so good!!🥣🥰

The gentle taste of this soup is due to the scallop broth dissolving into a thick, mellow soup. Kozuyu was originally served on special occasions, such as celebrations and New Year's, because the Aizu region was far from the sea and it was difficult to obtain seafood.😍✨

As you can see, it is usually served at the table in a cute little bowl that is smaller than miso soup. This implies that it is okay to have as many bowls as you’d like. This is another example of the hospitality of the Aizu region, and I recommend it because it gives you a gentle healthy feeling every time you eat it.
