高円寺ドキュメンタリーフェスティバルにて
『につつまれて』
『きゃからばあ』
を上映いただきました。

20年前の自分から大きなプレゼントをもらった。

愛と表現(作品)は両立しないのか…問われた私は、愛こそすべて…と答えてる。

その目、獲物を狙う目、命懸けで、何か大切なモノを護り抜くために。

どんなに醜い現実を見ても、
どんなにわかって貰えなくとも、最期の時に、自分自身に後悔しないか…その一点を指針に生きていた、あの頃。

孤独だけど、作品を見てくれる人の目は真っ直ぐだった。
それこそが歓びだった。

この日もソーシャルディスタンスで一席空いて…だったけど満席だった。そんなみんなの目は真っ直ぐだった。

I screened two films at the Za-Koenji Documentary Festival, "Embracing" and "Sky, Wind, Fire, Water, Earth".

It was a present that I received today, that came from myself two decades ago.

Are love and expression (work) compatible?...When asked this, "Love is everything"...I answered.

That eye, an eye that spots game, risks its life to protect something precious.

No matter how ugly of a reality I saw,
No matter how little I was understood, in the final moment, won't I regret anything...I lived focused on that point, back in those days.

It was lonely, but the eyes of the people who saw my work were straight.
That was a true joy.

Social distancing had people with seats between them today, but it was still sold out. There, everyone's eyes were straight.

It was a wonderful time!
