We shot some of the series in her house and it was equally clear how much she enjoyed creating a happy home life. She leaves her family and friends far too soon, but also leaves a legacy of art and advocacy. ✨Repost from @jennymollen • Jamie Tarses was an absolute legend in this business. She was a champion of women and one of those producers that even as an actor you’d be chomping at the bit to have notice you. You wanted her to love you because if she loved you she would fight for you. Having her produce my pilot and subsequent web series will always be one of the highlights of my career. She made it happen for me despite our numerous uphill battles. She was there along with her partner, Karen every step of the journey and it wasn’t just because we were shooting in her actual bedroom. When it came time to edit, that was when I got to witness what was perhaps her greatest gift. Nobody and I mean nobody understood comedy like Jamie. She could hear it, she could feel it, she could walk you through beat by beat telling you what needed to happen and why. While it typically meant cutting moments I wanted to luxuriate in, she was always right and I was in awe of her ability to see it- to look at something and make it better than it was.
