The “Mount Iwate pattern” dial first appeared in the SBGL001 released in 2006, which carried Caliber 9S67, Grand Seiko’s first mechanical movement with a three day power reserve. The numerous ridged contours carved on the face of the famed Mount Iwate, which is visible from the Grand Seiko Studio Shizukuishi, were reflected in the dial.
