Here at Taronga, our Gorilla troop play an incredible role as ambassadors for their wild cousins and are part of an international breeding program to help secure the future of their species. Unfortunately, the Western Lowland Gorilla is critically endangered due to a range of factors including poaching and disease, and in the last 20 -25 years alone their population has declined by more than 60%. Taronga partners with the @janegoodallau to inspire people to take action to protect our natural environment, and support the protection of great apes in Africa.
