Early on in my career I held Julie in very high regards. From my 5'2" stature, I was amazed at this 6'1" amazon woman that she was, fearless and full of life in all her photographs, who stormed the world of glam at age 30 and conquered it in a matter of months. One day I emailed her to express my admiration and sincere respect, and she responded by sending me her book and invited me to travel to L. A. to meet her at her house to model with her. I was floored. I didn't know what to do. The day I met Julie was absolutely surreal. She was bigger than life in person too. And so likable. She was all over the place, seemed totally organised in a chaotic kind of way, absolutely involved jn every minute of our encounter. At the end of our shoot she took her camera and two rolls of film and took amazing photos of me ; turns out she was quite the talented photographer too. She loved her miniature greyhound dogs who roamed around during our shoots. I'm the world of Glam, there was Julie, and then there were all the rest that followed. To say that Julie Strain had a big influence on my career is an understatement, and she's always had all my gratitude for her generosity, and for her influencial work. Months after our shoot together she confined in me over email her deep desire to have children, and that she feared she wouldn't be able to due to her age (she was 41). I was happy for her when she informed me not long after that she was retiring because she was going to have a baby. That's about when I lost track of Julie, and I continued to think of her, happy, with her family. I am saddened to no end to learn of Julie's passing, and SO YOUNG! I love you Julie. ♥ #unfair #imissyou #totalsadness UPDATE: quickly after posting this message last night I deleted it when I found that the film company had retracted the news and apologized for a false information. What made matters confusing was that their retraction was dated Jan-13, 2020, one year ago to this day. But the news is real this time. 😔 😢 R.I.P. #juliestrain」1月14日 22時16分 - biancabeauchampmodel

😢 I just learned to my horror that Glam/Heavy Metal legend (and my personal idol) Julie Strain has died at age 58.
