It’s Wednesday so that means #workoutwednesday !!

Today’s workout is a sequence of plies, to engage the inner thighs, glutes, hips and core. I used to do these exercises are part of my off-ice warmup everyday before training! Thanks to @erikavipond for sharing the first one with me in our essentrics workouts 🥰

I like the last exercise for figure skaters, which includes pulsing plies into a rotational snap air position. I always do it on both sides, even if I’m way more stable on one side. Balance is so important and I didn’t realize that as a young athlete but aches and pains that dominated one side of my body over the years have taught me the importance of balance. Sometimes I even do extra sets on my non-dominant side.

Have fun and plie away! Try doing each exercise for 2 minutes, taking a short break to shake out your legs and repeat!
