Or maybe not?) but this is teenage me who had just moved to New York City in previous year being captured on celluloid (and immortalized in appropriately goth attire of long hair and leather pants) at the opening sequence of 𝗟𝗢𝗨𝗜𝗦 𝗠𝗔𝗟𝗟𝗘’s last film “𝗩𝗔𝗡𝗬𝗔 𝗢𝗡 𝟰𝟮𝗡𝗗 𝗦𝗧𝗥𝗘𝗘𝗧” with @theandregregory & Wallace Shawn (the team #mydinnerwithandre), and @juliannemoore. I was walking right behind them and I had no idea that the shooting was in progress on 42nd street. How I found out about this was that I was hanging out with a French girl named Muriel at the time and she went back to Paris, and soon after she called me from there to tell me that she went to the cinema to see this film in Paris and saw me in the opening sequence. When I watch this film now it’s crazy to see how ragged and old school the Times Square and 42nd street looks, and I didn’t realize that I was just walking around in that crazy area back then. I keep forgetting about this but every time I remember this, it makes me a bit happy that I am, and really everyone who has ever lived here is, now forever a part of the city.
