I started my nonprofit @ancientartarchive to share and preserve images like this. The Megaloceros, also called the Irish elk (Megaloceros giganteus), was one of the largest deer to ever live. Its range extended across Eurasia in the Pleistocene. The animal is known from skeletal remains and also from a handful of depictions in Paleolithic cave art.
