“This work is influencer by Japanese gardens and flora, as is a part of the VVB collection. The soft colour palette in the collection is an element from which I drew inspiration. My artwork is a pencil drawing on paper depicting a Japanese bonsai plant in a ceramic vessel. I frequently employ found and repurposed paper in my practice. For this piece, I used a soft pink sheet of paper, which was received from a work collaborator based in Hiroshima, Japan.”
