ダコタ・ブルー・リチャーズさんのインスタグラム写真 - (ダコタ・ブルー・リチャーズInstagram)「Of all the bad things that happened in 2020 the worst thing I did to myself, by far, was to start using filters on my photos. It wasn’t something I’d really done before but once I started, and saw how much better I looked when edited, it became an addiction. It got to the point that I could barely stand to look at my real, unedited face, and at the same time I hated myself for being so disingenuous; the very fragile self esteem I had been nurturing was being eroded fast. Thankfully, I am lucky enough to be surrounded by beautiful, wonderful people who inspire me and lift me up, who care for me in ways I’m not yet capable of caring for myself, and who tell me when I’m being stupid. So with their encouragement, my new year’s resolution is to ditch filters* and face editing apps. Only my real face, with all its flaws, from now on. I know this is a very cringey, self congratulatory post, and if you’ve made it this far without vomitting I’m impressed, but I thought it was important to talk about because I know some of you will feel the same way. Social media forces you to compare yourself to others, and while I never tried to hide the fact that I was using filters, I was still actively participating in a problematic trend. I don’t ever want to be the face that makes you feel worse about your own. I’m not going to tell you to love yourself, because I know very well that it’s not that easy, but try to show yourself a little kindness from time to time. So, there you go. This is my actual face. No filters. No makeup. Get used to it and Happy New Year x *I reserve the right to continue using humourous filters that aren’t just intended to make you look prettier. And if you’re somebody that uses filters this is by no means an indictment of you.」1月7日 1時20分 - dakotabluerichards
