I sincerely hope that our great science / technology / solidarity will save many lives and solve all the problems with Covid19 pandemic as soon as possible. And "magnificence" is my musical theme this year, because I am planning to play solo, chamber music, and with orchestras quite regularly in the big halls, and I happened to play a lot of Rachmaninoff. (Sonata No. 2, Cello Sonata, Piano Concerto No. 2, No. 3, Paganini Rhapsody. In fact after deciding to play Piano Sonata this year, I got offers to play those other works by coincidence!) Also, I will give a 3 days master course on Piano Concerto in Kashiwazaki in February, and there I would like to explore with the students how to make a rich sound and an expressive performance in the large hall. May it be a beautiful and healthy year for everyone.🙏 今年の書き初めに「希望」を選んだ方は多いのではないかと思います。私も去年よりずっと良い、笑顔に溢れる年になることを願い、この言葉にしました。私たちの素晴らしい科学、技術、人類の連帯感が多くの人々の命を救い、コロナウィルスのパンデミックに関わる問題をできるだけ早く解決することを心から願っています。そして「雄大」は私にとって音楽における大切なテーマとなります。それは、協奏曲、室内楽、ソロを大ホールで演奏する機会が多くあり（予定ではありますが...）、偶然ラフマニノフを沢山取り上げることになったからです。（ソナタ第2番、チェロソナタ、ピアノ協奏曲第2番、第3番、パガニーニ狂詩曲）また、2月に柏崎で開催されるピアノ協奏曲マスターコースでは、恵まれた環境を最大限に活かし、大ホールで豊かに響かせるには、最後列に座っている人にも想いを届けるにはどうしたら良いかを生徒たちと一緒に探求していきたいと思います。皆様のご健康とご多幸をお祈りいたします。本年もどうぞよろしくお願い申し上げます。🙇🏻‍♂️ #書初め #hope #magnificence #希望 #雄大」1月3日 0時18分
