With Covid rearing its ugly head ever so loudly, of what feels even more intense than it started off with. My talented friends @redbikebluebike made this short film during the first lockdown back in March. I share this with the hope and gratitude that the city that i love so much and have lived for the last decade will find some sort of peace, love and healing. We are in such unprecedented times. For so many dreams crushed, things put on hold, loved ones torn apart. But i take great comfort in knowing that we are all in this together universally. And the creators have never stopped creating. The storytellers will keep telling their stories and humanity will hold strong. Through art we can heal and make sense of this all. I hope this short film gives you a big hug & a shoulder to cry on. During quarantine in mid-March 2020, it quickly became apparent that we needed to create a time-capsule of this surreal moment we were all experiencing. The film industry, along with so many others, was screeching to a holt, and we needed something to keep us creative for the unforeseeable future. To stay connected to our city, our community and our collaborators. So the two of us, along with cinematographer Jon Chema, all masked up and super cautious, just started recording. We reached out to both friends and complete strangers across this city, and began a series of socially distanced conversations. Talked about how people were living with this new normal, and it felt good to just listen. Like a crew of traveling therapists. After 9 months, and with Covid cases still at a record high, this is the film that came out of those sessions.
