Her powerhouse performance electrified everyone in the audience including me! I was mesmerized and awed by her intensity, talent, sexiness, spontaneity and humor. She made playing Roxie Hart look like so much fun that I included photos from the night I saw her right after the show as I can practically see the monumental impression she left on me on my face. She inspired me to dare to dream that dream like countless others it if only for a moment! Little did I know that I would one day be offered that role! And even more astonishingly I would take it! And in the wildest twist of fate that it would be Ann Reinking herself who would be the one to infuse me with the confidence I needed to actually live the Chicago dream! in 2011 the folks at Chicago convinced me they would give me what I needed to do the job. Enter Annie as everyone calls her. She is renowned as one of the best choreographers in the world, but that’s just part of her talent. She’s also an encourager generous, kind, empathetic with a real desire to help. She’s constantly thinking about ways to make it better, cooler, sexier, more thrilling, good, grand, great! I included a letter she took the time to write me. I think this letter says more about her her and her beautiful heart than it does about me. I cherish it as I cherish every second I got in her light. Today my heart aches for her Chicago family because I know how much they love and respect her. She is legendary, I can’t imagine Chicago without her, though I know she left a wonderful indelible mark on the show that’s synonymous with her. And for her relatives and dear friends my deepest most heartfelt sympathy. I am just one in a huge chorus who will sing her praises forevermore, and maybe add a few steps ..
