This system is absurd.  Discounting is a way for businesses to persuade us to overconsume and when we overconsume, businesses overproduce - here goes the vicious cycle and race to the bottom. Let’s not forget, low prices are achieved through not having to pay the true environmental cost nor a living wage for workers. The increasing quantities of clothes produced, increases profits and benefits shareholders - a major fashion CEO earns what a female garment worker in Bangladesh will earn in her entire lifetime in just 4 days.
